I actually did these during my Graphic Design 3 class.
So, I've been having the urge to do a bunch of doodles about my human version of Randall Boggs, and I ended filling up a whole page with sketches of him, mainly to practice his hair, facial expressions, and variety of outfits (he actually likes dressing up a lot; it's one of the ways he gets to one-up James in my story quite often).
Most of these sketches are in human form; some of my faves in this piece have to be his "I'm in the zone today" pose, and the one where he's dressed in a formal men's kimono ensemble and the bottom. I also drew him with his hair loose, just too see how long I made it (and how voluminous it is too) The only sketch that has him in his monster form (in my version, they're shapeshifters) actually originated from the most bizarre headcanon possible:
According to my story, Randall apparently finds women with pigtails to be beautiful and attractive (he finds it to be an aesthetic quality more than anything), and not only that, but he thinks being able to use a baseball bat as a self-defense weapon is also pretty cool. Now before you say anything, I'll tell you that while these traits probably constitute what would be his ideal wife, the irony is that the only character that possesses both these traits is, let's just say, way out of his league, so he has absolutely no feelings for her whatsoever. (Though in a future headcanon, the passage of time between their worlds is different depending on how long they leave a door unconnected, so when she returns, she is 25, and Randall is 29, therefore making him his peer and able to begin a relationship)
As much as I enjoyed sketching these, I may only color the main one (the only one that has him full body). This one is based on his introduction in my story, which also detailed the patterns he is wearing (if you're following on PP or FF.net)
So, hope you enjoyed my Randall doodle dump. And although it's been over a week, I consider this a belated birthday gift for him. So a Happy (belated) Birthday to Randall Boggs!!! Hopefully, I can do a better gift on time next 3/26.
