Have you ever heard of "Let's Play" videos on YouTube?

Because... I actually plan to make my own someday.

Knowing me, they will be 100% clean humored, and I might even include extras (like fanart and random photo inserts), just to be different from most other "Let's Play" videos out there.

Also, there's not much going on in my life, other than I'm trying to get myself to draw and color stuff, and I wish to draw transformation sequences and magical girl costumes. =D

And that's my journal show for today!

My Premium membership, that is.

And... I was, for now, unable to come up with a "neutral" username that is not my YouTube/Polyvore name (I may change the Polyvore name too one day) Besides, I'm so in love with MU right now, that I've decided that I'll stick with an MU-based name for now, until I can get another premium membership in the future, and be able to come up with a good neutral username. Sorry about that. One the bright side, it gives me an idea for a new ID! =D

Speaking of all things MU, I have seen that my poll has shown that the majority of my watchers (or anyone else who voted) do indeed want to see more Monsters stuff from me. Very wise decision from those voters, since I do have quite a few MU-based ideas I've had floating around in my head that I've been trying to get down on paper in my free time. Hopefully I can draw all the ideas I have during the summer, and other stuff, including another new OC (not part of any parody, and is a rival to my OCs Charity and Tallulah)

And... that's about it for now. Hope you are all finishing your spring semesters at school/college/whatever (if you are in school right now), and I should be back to drawing to my heart's content (God willing) after finals week. (TWO WEEKS FROM NOW!!!)

Star! Polyvore Star! FanFiction Star! YouTube

Yup, I've been blessed with the gift of a one-month Premium membership once again!

This time, I really do hope to change my username, but I want it to be something fandom-neutral. The reason is that if I choose something fandom-specific, then the chance that I get to change it again is very slim. (So no, I will not be making one based on Randall "Cupcake Cutie Pie" Boggs; yes, I just called him that! =D) I would use my YouTube name, but I want to try doing something more creative.

Speaking of Randall Boggs, as many of you have probably seen already, I have developed a liking for this particular character after my second viewing of Monsters University. Truth be told, however, I am more in love with his fanart than his appearances in the movies! I've also discovered that there's quite a few fansites devoted to Randall; I've been lurking on one in particular called the "Boggs Board" (it exists, look it up), and there are some highly devoted fans out there. Personally, I take neither side in the whole "Randall's a Victim" vs. "Randall's a Total Jerk" debate (seriously...), and I like to think of him as what the manga/anime world would call a yandere. For those of you unfamiliar with manga, this term refers to a character that starts out as sweet, kind and gentle, but over time is reveled to be mentally insane and will resort to psychotic violence, usually to protect who/what they love most. While the typical yandere is usually a psychotic love interest (usually a girl defending the boy she loves), Randall nonetheless displays many of the hallmarks of a yandere. In the beginning of MU, he is kind, sweet, shy, and innocent, but once he joins the cool kids and starts rising in popularity and recognition, he does whatever it takes to continually gain the acceptance he craves and loves (participating in the prank against Oozma Kappa, vowing revenge against Sulley, and then in MI, going as far as hurting Mike and Sulley, inadvertently also endangering Boo's life, all to defend what he loves most: recognition and acceptance) That being said, I do not pardon or excuse any of Randall's actions, and even if somehow it is the result of some emotional instability or mental breakdown he had, I don't use it to justify his behavior at all. Nevertheless, I love Randall very much, and do support the idea that he should get his own movie too and a possible redemption. Even since the first movie (when I was not fond of him at all), I never found Randall terrifying; in fact, his soft and smoky purple/blue/magenta coloring, antennae, and gecko-like fingers give him a more soft, pleasant, yet quirky, and even playful appearance. (In a humanized parody of Monsters, Inc. that I am writing, Randall is said to smell of lavender and moonflowers)

And... there you have it. My first openly expressed opinion on Randall Boggs!

I may not be able to put up art during this time (...school schedule...), but I hope to maybe give some critiques! See you next time!

I was thinking, since I've been out of school for about a week now, and with Christmas just around the corner, it's time to write a journal.

So, I learned how to use Photoshop CS6, and passed my final Illustration class. Of course, that means more time for drawing my favorite things.

That leads me to my next subject. I am planning to introduce a new series soon here on dA.
--

From the artists who brought you Directive, J.E.D.I. and AirHeads! comes an out-of-this world epic that will show you that not all wardrobes lead to Narnia...

Introducing... Michael and James: Energy Harvesters!!

The only details I will be giving about the series are:

1) that it takes place on an alien planet with advanced technology, including seamless wormhole travel and the ability to produce electrical power from harnessing human sound.

2) The characters are kemonomimi; that is, their are human in appearance but have some minimal animal features (such as ears, horns, tails, wings, fur, scales, etc.). However, they can transform into fantastic creatures and beasts unlike anything on Earth by means of henshin sequences (Japanese word meaning "to transform the body", and refers to transformation sequences in those anime about giant fighting robots, superheroes, or the ever-popular magical girls).

3) A two-year-old girl named Mariko Tachibana is the bridge between Earth and the alien world. She does not know this for she's only a pajama-clad toddler who can't even talk, and suffers from Herpetophobia (fear of reptiles), but loves cuddling cats (both real and stuffed).

4) There will be a character whose nickname is "Fungus", and he speaks like Yoda from Star Wars. #HowRandomIsThat

So, hope I can draw those soon! (as well as some AirHeads! stuff I've been wanting to do for a while now)

And before I go, Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday season to all my watchers!

So, I'm back in school. However, I'm actually excited about it, since I'm taking my third Illustration class, which allows me to go completely digital, and I'm also taking a Digital Imaging class which will teach me how to use Photoshop CS6. I hopefully may be able to showcase some of that stuff early and not wait till the end of the semester to do so.

Which reminds me... I've been thinking about this for a long time, but have been putting it off since I actually like to show the "good art" I make, but... does anyone want to see early sketches and doodles from before I got a tablet and Corel Paint Shop Pro? Seriously, looking back, my art from before Fall 2009 may actually look like an 11-year-old's work compare to now, but I was considering putting up some never-before-seen character sketches and even some early concepts for characters, both OCs and Parody characters, all which have never been released to the general viewing public before.

If you want to see some of that stuff, feel free to tell me. I would have asked this question as a poll, but I don't have a premium membership, so I decided to take the "Free Member" shortcut and make it a journal question (80% of watchers may possibly ignore).

And, that's all I have to say. Had a great summer, ended it with a vacation week, and now I'm going to get through another three and a half months of school, but doing what I love.

Not much to say, other than I recently saw Monsters University. I originally didn't plan on doing any fanart for it, but after having seen VinDeamer's Terri and Terry humanizations, I said, "Why not?". Currently, I'm sketching out the Slugma Slugma Kappa Girls, after which I plan to do Eta Hiss Hiss, and save the best for last... Python Nu Kappa! (soooooo many great design ideas!!!)

I've been on an art spree lately, also having done some anime fanarts, just so people don't see the same characters over and over from me. Hopefully I could get my MU fanart here as soon as possible!!!!!! =D =D =D

Yes! I finally learned to do this!!! Now my watchers can see my other stuff outside dA.

So, not much is going on, other than I'm on Spring Break.  Might do some art, and I'm planning to watch some more anime soon. Lately, I've been intrigued by the Haruhi Suzumiya series (those opening and ending sequences I've seen on YouTube are so amazing!), mainly because it seems to be a funny version of shows like Fringe and Doctor Who, and the cast of characters is quite interesting, and also I'm considering watching the anime franchise Pretty Cure, because it's so cute and colorful, with lots of cool action. Other animes I'm interested in are K-ON!, which is a little like Glee, but more family-friendly and it involves playing instruments (I wouldn't watch Glee; it's too adult for my tastes) and Nichijou, which is about friends who lives a normal life despite various absurdities occurring in her school. I've also considered Azumanga Daioh and Pani Poni Dash!, which I hear are just plain weird but hilarious adventures of girls in school.

So, that's pretty much that. And now before I end this journal...

 Bible Verse of the Month

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat, this is My body." Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's Kingdom.

...and now that my winter vacation is about to come to an end pretty soon.

So, I just wanted to update this thing again. Not much to say, other than I got the Avatar: The Last Airbender Art Book for Christmas, as well as another Avatar book about Toph, some gift money, and Disney Universe, which I started playing and I got so addicted to, especially one world specifically (I just love the way they remixed its soundtrack and added a bunch of funny elements). Then on my birthday, I got some more gift money and the art book for WALL•E, and I later purchased myself a WALL•E-themed journal to draw more art in!

And also, this winter break, I watched my first anime series that is not and American creation like Avatar is. I was able to watch all 24 episodes of Lucky Star on YouTube, and dubbed in English. Seriously, that show was hilarious!!! There's so many funny moments, I have too many favorites to even list in this entry! A few of my faves include Konata discussing the chocolate cornet and different ways of tacking pastries and dishes, a discussion on dentistry catering to boys because of robot drills and beautiful assistants, Tsukasa imagining herself floating in the water when putting a seashell to her ear, Konata handing Cafe Au Lait to Kagami and Tsukasa along with shopping lists for Comiket 71, and every time the anime salesmen appear to sell Konata merchandise, and the explosions when they get foiled. I was laughing so much with that show. Aside from a few PG-rated elements the series has (discussion of topics like dieting, body development, self-image, neighborhood crime, etc.), this show is good for those looking for something more relaxed and different than most anime known here in America (you know, stuff like Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Naruto, Dragon Ball; the action/sci-fi/fantasy shows). My two fave characters in the show had to be Tsukasa and Miyuki; they were the sweetest and most adorable of all the characters, and kind of remind me of some of my own characters. =)

Wow! I've written quite a bit this time. So, hopefully I continue to put up more art, and since I'm taking more art classes this spring semester, I hope to show off whatever I make in my classes.

EDIT: I for got to mention to you guys that I've now got a FanFiction.net account!!! My name over there is Earth Rockin' Toph, and I'm currently uploading a new re-edited and beautifully re-mastered edition ofStar Vacation, just in case anyone wants to check out.

The summer season for me, that is. =(

So, I just wanted to update this journal before school starts again, and I'll be having to put all my focus into my schoolwork. The good news is that I'll be taking a graphic design class, so hopefully that helps me get better with my art. I am getting serious about making an organization plan that I pray will work out; I hope to get my homework done on time, and if my schedule allows (but ultimately, God willing), to be able to put up some art here during the semester, mainly on the weekends. But then again, it's 1) in God's hands, and 2) if I don't procrastinate on any schoolwork; I've had that habit before.

Also, I've been thinking about this lately... I'm thinking of starting a new group soon, but I'd like to name a co-founder. If anyone wants to participate, send me a note. The group is going to be a surprise (no, it's not an Avatar group, but it's Pixar-related...how predictable). I've also been contemplating turning over EVE-lovers to PurpleRAGE9205, but I'm unsure of that decision as of yet. I'll probably hold off on that one for a while.

And that's pretty much I have to say for now. So before I leave this journal entry...

I really should update this more often. Oh well....

Again, not much has happened over the summer, except for the fact that I'm coloring as many drawings as possible before college starts again. I've actually gone through my notebooks, and I've found some stuff I've been wanting to color in since 2010... how unbelievable!!! Having found those, I decided to re-work and re-sketch some of those drawings before scanning them in, and I hope to be able to have most of them up here for you guys to see.

Which brings me to this point of advice for artists' block: If you don't know what next to color, go through some old stuff that you've probably never bothered to put up here and re-work it if you want to. I also do hope to do some art during school time so I won't disappear and keep my gallery alive during the school year; not just working on holidays.

Also, some interesting things have happened lately. I saw Brave in theaters, so probably expect some fanart from me soon. Some thing's I've forgotten to note is that in spring, I got Britt Nicole's latest CD, Gold (seriously, listen to the songs "Gold", "Ready or Not", "Breakthrough", and "Amazing Life".), and back in February, I got braces!

As for my gallery... I'm going to be putting up a bunch of random stuff, just to give it more variety than just parodies of Star Wars, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and WALL•E. Also, one character you know is going to get a major change, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Well, that's pretty much it. And before I end this journal...

So, I'm still on vacation, trying to color in as much of my drawings I've made. And as usual, I'm gonna give another update on the changes taking place in my gallery.

For starters, I may be moving some pieces into the shelved folder. Probably I should even rename it the "Shelved, Other Projects, and Until Further Notice" folder

UPDATE #1: Just today, I got the idea to remake my old sketch comedy series As Seen on TV!, totally new and revamped. I finished my fall semester at college. Now that I'm done, I've got tons of stuff I'm going to do on here. After all, I've got until the beginning of February to do some art here.

Here's what going to go on in my gallery:

Star Vacation/Directive:

So I have finally finished my parody I posted up on PP and on here as well. I am considering doing a few pictures of some scenes, and also from my spin-off. One of the ideas I might be getting down on paper will be Wallace and Bissell's musical club, complete with  new Postulate characters, a robot teacher, and a big opening show.

J.E.D.I.:

Not much planned for this, other than some humor and a special Holiday-themed outfit for one of the Debate club characters.

AirHeads!:

There will be tons of AirHeads! stuff headed your way. However, I will try to upload different series each time just so I don't become tiresome.

Other:
I might have finally invented an original plot for my story involving my OC Tally and her friends. New characters will be introduced, and one already existing one may get a name change and some appearance updates.

So that's what's going on. Hope you're all having a great holiday season!
